Zombies and Cats

Hello Gibberish readers and welcome to another blog post! I hope everyone enjoyed their chocolate covered Easter break! Everyone's on one of those chocolate come down stories no doubt :P. I was munching away like no other myself and why not huh?

Well, back to blogging after not doing much these past few days! I did ink in that Totoro tee design I was doing but then got an idea for something new. I had the idea of doing a Street Fighter themed tee but a couple of the characters as zombies. Don't ask me why though hhahahah I just thought it would be fun! I felt like I would rather do themed reference t-shirts in my own style. I am not overly keen on just copying a style or trying to. Want to see my Zombie Fighter tee design so far? Not yet finished as you can tell, still needs a lot of work but it is coming a long I guess!

It has Ryu just because he is seen to be the main street fighter character. But then it has Chun-Li (not yet finished) doing her kick but being a zombie and all her leg is falling off because it has rotted away! Wanted to add her as she is the main female character plus her costume is mostly blue which will add more of a change of colour to everything else. On the other side of Ryu is Dhalsim who even though is not a main character will add a bit more silliness to the whole thing. With his ability to stretch his arms I thought it would be funny to have him as a zombie but his long arms dragging across the ground as if his arms can not shrink back into place!

Oh, and here is the ink work I've done on my Totoro tee design! I took a break but it will be nice to get back to it and see what it looks like put together at some stage!

Mario and the Catbus!

Oh and again another Monday blog turns into a Tuesday one, I guess I am on a roll huh? :P Ah, how you doing Gibberish readers? All vamped up for an Easter holiday? I suppose most of us here in good old Brit land will have a freeeeeeeeeeeeeezin' one! Never mind, at least the chocolate won't melt ay?

This week I am showing of some pretty rough and crude sketches of new ideas I have for t-shirt designs. I will be sending them off too to a few design places like my, Hello Mah Honey design I submitted yesterday (crossed fingers for that one), when I am done of course! So far they kind'a look like shite! But that is the good thing with sketch book stuff, they are allowed to be!

First up is my Cat bus from, My Neighbour Totoro idea! It is mainly a fake logo/ poster/ advertisement kind of thing for the Cat Bus Express! I thought it would be good to have above on a scroll type thing, "The Forest Spirit's Transport Network" or something then under Express have, "A purr-fect way to travel since 1988. 88 Being the year of the films release. If you have not yet seen this film you should by all means. It is such a heart warming and charming animation with amazing characters! I think if you like it you will like this design!

Next up is, as you can see, a Mario fighting Bowser design. Mario of course rocking the flower power up so his fist is flaming. This t-shirt design is kind of a mash up of, well, Mario and the cover art of Street Fighter 4. Hopefully I will have this coloured in but done in a paint brush splat kind of way! Seems like I have given myself a good few projects to work on these few weeks and I am sure they will prove to have their own problems a long the way. But if I can pull them off then I think these will rock!

As I sip this here coffee which is getting cold I can not help but think what 5 colours I will be using for these and how I am gonna use 'em! I guess I will be finding out soon enough!

Hello Mah.......Finished Alien Design!

Wow Gibberish readers I sure feel like crap this evening, not sure why but I think I am coming down with something, or maybe it is just I have an alien inside me ready to burst out my chest and sing, "Hello, mah baby. Hello, mah honey. Hello, mah ragtime gal!" Yep, you like what I did there?!

OK... OK... Here is my brand new t-shirt design, 'Hello Mah Honey' all finished up and looking good, well, I hope you lot like! And yep, like I said before and you can probably tell this is based on Alien/Spaceball's!

All right I think it is time for a little lay down and to think about what colour tees this here design will look good on. If you would like to see a certain colour please let me know by all means. Then it is time to submit it to a t-shirt site! Would you guys be down for helping me with votes again? Well, until next time peeps, stay tidy! Toodles!!

Hello, My Baby!

OK, so I might be late with this here blog post given it is now a Tuesday post rather than a Monday's, but it is in all good reason Gibberish Readers. And you want to know, or in this case see the reason? Well here you go my funky friends!

Here is the pencil stage of my new t-shirt design. This time referencing a cult classic comedy, Spaceball's! Which as you might know has a great spoof scene of the Alien chest burst from another cult classic, Alien. 

I was gonna draw the blood splat as well but I left it out. Reason being is that I want this blood splat to be realistic looking and not cartoony. I thought by doing that it would look more like it was coming out the wearer's chest rather than just a straight up illustration of it doing so. If I had realistic blood it will give of the effect I am trying to do better.

So yeah, you like it? I am also doing a t-shirt design of the Cat Bus from My Neighbour Totoro but I will show you that this coming Friday if that is cool with you!

Hello Mah Honey!

Hey there Gibberish readers! Welcome to another Friday blog post. A little late but hey hoooo, I wanted to show you all some work I've been up to today. Apart from this week where I have started up my Society 6 store (where you can go buy my octopus design, "Bubbles Tenticool" on a load of different stuff not just tees just click here to go and check it out! ) I have been drawing up a new logo. Plus I have also started up a sketch for a new t-shirt design I will hopefully finish real soon. This t-shirt design is based on a film reference. Can you guess which one? Please excuse the crudeness of this, just a rough sketch so far!

See what it is yet? This here is a tee design based on Spaceball's wonderful Alien spoof scene right at the end. Seen it? If not go check it out please because it is such a funny film, a real old classic comedy! This design is going to be drawn as if this Chest Burster Alien is bursting out the wearer's chest complete with the straw hat and cane combo! Oh "Hello mah honey. Hello my baby. Hello my rag time girl!"...... Hahahaa, brilliant!!

Also today I have been working on a small simple logo for my scripter friend going by the name of, Natok Dryke on the vitural world, Second Life. He is running a blog at the moment about helpful tips on how to build up money in business. Go check it out if you want to here: www.natokdryke.com. He is at the moment getting a fair bit of readers coming in. Anyway, here it is! The thing is all in parts at the moment and will be put together later but what it is is his name, Natok Dryke with a money bag character running through the centre. Check this!

Finally peeps, today I have been answering a short interview for a t-shirt blog! Seems fun and when it is done and published up on the site I will let you all know. Hopefully my answers are not too long. LOL I do get carried away yer know!

Hello Furry Friend!

In amazement Chips swam closer to meet this cool looking creature. "Hello there fuzzy fella!" The octopus spoke with a smile. "Don't mind me, I am just rocking out to some scuba beats while practising my bubble blowing skills! Wanna join crazy cat?" With that Chips noded, and waves a paw as if to say hello. "You can call be Bubbles Tenticool old bean!"

Another short post for this cold Monday evening Gibberish readers but here is yet another Chips story segment to get your week off to a warm sunny start! Chips Meets Bubbles!

Distracted by that funky bass line Chips forgets about the fish and dives down further trying to find it's source. Battling fiercely against the water Chips finally spots something emerging from the depths. "Whoa what could this wild crazy thing be?" Thinks Chips. "Well at least I know where those bubbles are coming from now!"

Well this Friday Gibberish readers is a li'l on the short side, but hey here comes yet another Chips segment in the story. Can you can see who it is blowing those bubbles here huh?

Well as we draw so close now towards the end of the road for my t-shirt design on Threadless. Yes, that is right, in a few hours from now, hell make that nearly one, my octopus t-shirt design will close for it's final mark! Let's see how well it has done! Has it done enough to see a print? All I can say for now is, everyone who has come and scored this has been so amazing! I am in such deep deep shock and amazement at everyone's efforts to help, Bubbles Tenticool see a print! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It means more than words can say to see what you all have done for me! I love you all! Respect and big ups!!
